Mashrafe Mortuza: Ready To Take Any Risk To Play In The World Cup 2011

Bangladeshi Pace bowler Mashrafe bin Mortaza has been suffering from a knee injury for couple days and has just resumed batting in the nets. After his collapse on the pitch during a domestic game last month, he's been the greatest dilemma for the selectors before they name the 15-member Bangladesh Squad for the ICC flagship event.
The deadline for them to pick the final squad is January 19, but it is certain that Mashrafee will not be completely fit before the time frame set by the ICC.

The good part is that Mash is quite positive to get back on pitch before the event starts. As his injury and selection in the master squad has been a HOT TOPIC for Bangladesh Fans. Mash is confident as always to be fit within next few weeks. He just wants a favour to be selected and promises to return his best.
Mash gets his back by Bangladesh Coach Jamie Siddons, who said paceman Mashrafe is worth of a risk in the World Cup squad as there is always a chance to get a replacement if he fails to regain his full fitness before the tournament.
A ray of hope came for him from Siddons, who is otherwise known to give emotion a very little value.
‘I would love to know for sure that he will be fit before February 19. It is always very difficult taking or risking injured players in. But the rule is there which says that if we don’t use a player than we can replace him. Maybe that minimises the risk,’ Siddons told reporters on Saturday.
‘If we can replace him we can take a risk. But we need to have a few things to be clarified and then make a decision,’ said Siddons.
‘There is no one who can replace him in real sense given the way he bowled in the last series and in the last ten years. From the players we look likely to select he is obviously the only fast bowler who played in the World Cup,’ he said.
‘He is probably our best bowler when he is fit and that is the dilemma.
Mashrafe himself is also willing to take a risk as the World Cup is always a special occasion to any player.
‘Well, I am prepared to take any risk to play in the World Cup and at the moment I am confident that I can do it as the progress is quite satisfactory,’ said Mashrafe.
Its now a national wish for Mashrafe and to watch the return of a HERO!
